Celebration fires are burning high at KWV following another incredible performance in a global wine competition, this time at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2021 (DWWA). KWV is exceptionally proud that its wines secured multiple medals from Decanter, a competition regarded as the “largest and most influential” of its kind. Notably, KWV is honoured to announce that two of its wines secured a Decanter Platinum medal, reserved for wines that scored 97 or more out of a possible 100. In total, KWV secured no less than 15 medals in the 90+ score range.

A trio of The Mentors by KWV wines have been singled out by the well-regarded judging panel of the Gilbert & Gaillard International Challenge, highlighting once again the consistency of quality that this premier South African range continues to maintain.

Cape Town – It’s official: The coveted KWV Cruxland Gin is now the best London Dry Gin in the world – a first for South African gins. After final tastings by acclaimed judges all over the world, KWV Cruxland Gin was named the World’s Best London Dry Gin at the 2020 World Gin Awards in London on 27 February. For the first time in history, a South African gin has secured this title. KWV’s celebrated Cruxland Gin did not only beat entries from England, the king of gin, but also France, Japan, Canada, Germany, China, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Belgium and Sweden.
