Every bottle tells a story. But when the same wine is tasted across different vintages, an even more fascinating story
begins to unfold — one shaped by the seasons, the vineyard and the passage of time.
The Vintage Journey invites wine lovers to explore one of wine’s most captivating qualities:
its ability to reflect a particular year.

While each bottle may share the same label, no two vintages are ever identical. Every growing season brings its own
combination of rainfall, sunshine, temperature and harvest conditions, all of which leave their mark on the finished wine. These subtle differences can influence aroma, fruit expression, texture, structure and finish.

This edition brings together different vintages of four wines from the KWV portfolio, offering the opportunity to taste them side by side and discover how each year expresses itself in the glass.
From Cathedral Cellar Chardonnay to The Mentors Petit Verdot, The Mentors Canvas and The Mentors Grenache Blanc, each pairing offers a new perspective on the relationship between wine, time and place.

There are no right or wrong answers — only individual observations and preferences.

Each pairing offers an opportunity to compare the influence of the growing season while appreciating
the character of the wine itself.

Explore two vintages of Chardonnay and discover how a change in growing conditions can influence the wine’s aroma, fruit expression, freshness and texture.
As you taste, consider: Which vintage feels brighter or richer? Do you notice differences in fruit character, acidity or finish?

THE MENTORS PETIT VERDOT 2020, 2021 & 2022
With three vintages to compare, this selection offers a deeper look at how Petit Verdot develops across different years.
