Location: Paarl

Purpose: The incumbent will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment, including wiring, lighting, control systems, and electrical infrastructure within Operations The role includes preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and supporting new installations, upgrades, and modifications to electrical systems. The incumbent ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems while complying with applicable legal, regulatory, and food safety requirements. The incumbent is responsible for delivering services with integrity and continuously striving to ensure that only food-safe and quality-compliant services are provided.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant N4 Qualification
  • Trade tested Electrical Artisan
  • 5–8 years’ experience in maintenance of electrical equipment, networks, and control systems
  • Valid driver’s licence

Work Related Experience:

  • Working at heights
  • Working in confined spaces
  • Forklift licence (advantageous)
  • MEWP (mobile elevated working platform) licence (advantageous)
  • Basic technical competency in electrical and mechanical systems
  • Process control and measurement knowledge
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic capability
  • Experience with utilities such as steam, air, water, cooling, and effluent systems
  • Strong understanding of workshop ethics, tools, and safety standards

Job Summary:

  • Perform maintenance on medium and low voltage electrical networks.
  • Maintain onsite utilities including steam, air, water, effluent, cooling, and electrical systems.
  • Operate and maintain monitoring, recording, and control systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on electrical equipment, wiring, and control systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical faults using electrical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Install, upgrade, and commission electrical equipment, wiring, and control systems in line with safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical safety procedures and operational protocols.
  • Support contractor management and ensure adherence to site safety and operational standards.
  • Execute work orders timeously and ensure proper documentation, sign-off, and system updates.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of company resources and electrical utilities
