Artisan Refrigeration ref: AR0708
Location: Paarl
Purpose: The role ensures that all cooling and refrigeration systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company food safety standards. The incumbent is also responsible for delivering services with integrity while supporting operational continuity within the Technical Maintenance environment.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- N3 qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, a recognised trade qualification (trade certificate), and a recognised refrigeration qualification/course.
- 5–8 years’ experience in industrial refrigeration and HVAC maintenance
Work Related Experience:
- Working at heights
- Working in confined spaces
- Valid forklift licence (advantageous)
- Valid MEWP (mobile elevated working platform) licence (advantageous
- Technical workshop experience including tools, safety, and maintenance ethics
- Basic technical competency in electrical and mechanical systems
- Process control and measurement understanding
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- Strong hand-eye coordination and practical technical aptitude
Job Summary:
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs of refrigeration, HVAC, and cooling systems.
- Assist in diagnosing faults and breakdowns and support corrective actions to restore equipment functionality.
- Carry out preventative maintenance tasks including cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and system checks.
- Ensure all refrigeration and HVAC systems operate within required safety, quality, and efficiency standards.
- Support installation and commissioning of new cooling systems and equipment where required.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, legal, and regulatory requirements at all times.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and update relevant systems as required.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept in a safe, clean, and organised condition.
- Support contractor activities on site to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Execute assigned work orders timeously and ensure proper sign-off and closure.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental procedures, including use of PPE
