Cellar Assistant ref: CA0813

Location: Worcester

Purpose: The incumbent is responsible for the receipt, storage, transfer, distillation support, and dispatch of wines and distilled products, ensuring an efficient and compliant production process. The role is accountable for maintaining food safety, quality, and regulatory standards while supporting pot-distilled brandy production and maturation activities as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • 3 years’ experience in a spirits environment
  • Good understanding of Manufacturing Process and general cellar work
  • Code B driver’s license would be advantageous
  • Must be able to work overtime and over weekends when operationally required.
  • Be able to work on high structures and or small spaces as required

Skills Required:

  • Basic computer, numerical and technical skills
  • Administrative skills

Job Summary:

  • Operating of weighbridge during out of season time and required to be stand in whilst in season.
  • Receiving of materials should be aligned to the Company policy and procedures.
  • Conduct weekly stock take on the volumes of the product in the tanks and report accordingly.
  • Ensure the necessary samples are drawn from truck to mitigate the risk of contamination before offloading is done.
  • Ensure the offloading of product from the trucks are done.
  • Transfer of product to discharge tanks.
  • Ensure housekeeping is up to standard and according to company policy and procedure.
  • Once a certain tank reached capacity they will conduct tank to tank transfers for utilization.
  • Ensure housekeeping is up to standard and according to company policy and procedure Ensure monthly stock take is conducted taking tank readings and sampling adherence to SOP.
  • Ensure the correct quantity of product is dispatched according to specific type and quality. Ensure pumps and pipes are used according to specification to load product.
  • Operate a forklift when needed on an ad hoc basis.
