Light Vehicle Driver ref: LVD0807

Location: Head Office Paarl

Purpose: To provide a reliable, safe and efficient collection and delivery service to internal and external clients. Deliver professional customer service and representing the company’s brand positively. Ensuring compliance with road traffic legislation and all safety requirements. In addition to the driving support, provide administrative office support through administrative tasks, eg filing, photocopying, scanning and document management assistance.

Minimum requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • 2 – 3 years years experience as a light vehicle driver
  • Valid code B (Light Motor Vehicle) driver’s license with no endorsements.
  • Physical fitness for the loading and off-loading of items when required (eg. Promotional items and product)
  • Excellent communication and written skills when interacting with clients

Job summary:

  • Daily delivery and collection of parcels, documents, samples and stock as required by staff members within the company.
  • All requests are actioned daily according to communication received via e-mail from staff members.
  • Professional and safety conscious when transporting goods and effectively adhering to road traffic laws and regulations.
  • Effective route planning and navigation of trips.
  • Conduct regular basic maintenance and vehicle inspections by performing routine monthly checks to vehicle allocated – e.g. checking of oil, water, brakes, tyres, etc.
  • Complete and sign vehicle checklist for record keeping with line manager.
  • Knowledge of office equipment e.g. printing, scanning of documents
  • Assist with administrative tasks, updating of the asset register as well as the recording of the inventory of all assets within Head Office.
