KWV BRANDY TAKES HOME TROPHY FROM OLD MUTUAL SPIRITS SHOW

KWV Brandy is proud to announce that it cinched another award in a major spirits competition. In its latest illustrious performance, South Africa’s famous brandy producer won the Trophy for the Best Pot-Distilled Brandy at the inaugural Old Mutual Trophy Spirits Show. This achievement follows waves of celebrations at this distiller, who also just secured the Trophy for Producer of the Year, as well as Trophy for Best Brandy at the International Spirits Challenge in London in July.

BRITISH MASTER TIM ATKIN AWARDS KWV WINES WITH A SENSATIONAL CLEAN-SWEEP

South Africa, Paarl, September 2019; KWV has achieved an astounding result having emerged among this year's best producers overall in an authoritative report on South African wine just released by British Master of Wine Tim Atkin. A sensational 20 of the Paarl-based producer's wines received a score of 90+, with half of them being from the top-tier KWV The Mentors range.

MAKING HISTORY: KWV CRUXLAND GIN FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN GIN TO WIN WORLD’S BEST LONDON DRY GIN

Cape Town – It’s official: The coveted KWV Cruxland Gin is now the best London Dry Gin in the world – a first for South African gins. After final tastings by acclaimed judges all over the world, KWV Cruxland Gin was named the World’s Best London Dry Gin at the 2020 World Gin Awards in London on 27 February. For the first time in history, a South African gin has secured this title. KWV’s celebrated Cruxland Gin did not only beat entries from England, the king of gin, but also France, Japan, Canada, Germany, China, Italy, Denmark, Spain, Belgium and Sweden.

KWV WELCOMES JUSTIN CORRANS AS ITS CHIEF WINEMAKER

KWV is excited to welcome Justin Corrans as its new Chief Winemaker. Corrans joins the KWV fold having previously served as the CEO of Breedekloof winery, Mountain Ridge. His appointment is backed by nearly twenty years of international and local wine industry experience, a meticulous approach to winemaking, sound technical knowledge and an unwavering passion for South African wine.
